Alpe d’Huez : the trendy

1860 metres of altitude

Since 1936, Alpe d’Huez has been developed as a ski resort at an altitude of 1860 metres on the Grandes Rousses massif.

This resort is lucky enough to have generous sunshine and a particularly active microclimate.

The village’s traditions show in its gastronomy and rural culture, exemplified by the seasonal transhumance of some 370 cows and 2000 sheep grazing on 10 000 hectares of pasture.

Rich in numerous cultural, recreational and sporting activities (hiking, hang-gliding, cycling, horse-riding, etc.), Alpe d’Huez is also the scene of major events throughout the summer.
