VATEA Giant Biathlon Challenge

Alizé, Project Manager for the Alps, tells us about her success story with VATEA.

What was the client’s objective in wanting to organize this type of event?

To bring together all of its employees on a unique site and give them a mountain experience through activities that they would not have done on their own: cross-country skiing and biathlon, discovery of mountain activities in a very friendly and participative atmosphere.

The goal: to create an emulsion around the activity and the place: Vallorcine.

What logistical obstacles have you encountered?

Quite common in the mountains: snow. Both an obstacle and a prerequisite. The Col des Montets to get to the event location is closed during heavy snowfalls, which actually happened, so fortunately there was a plan A and B (with transportation by the Mont Blanc train). The pass finally opened the same morning so everything went as planned by bus.

The complexity of the project was also to be able to organize this biathlon challenge for 275 people, which created a major logistical challenge. The first event of this magnitude in the resort of La Poya!

How was the atmosphere on this sunny field day?

Friendly and fun atmosphere!

Everyone tried the activity despite the differences in the level of each person, everyone was able to try the experience!

And this, with perfect weather conditions: sunshine and very satisfactory snow cover.

How did the participants feel on the spot?

Beautiful experience lived at different levels: discovery of this exceptional site, discovery of this sport discipline which is the biathlon/triathlon for some, exchange and sharing in group of this experience, moment of cohesion…

Surpassing oneself for some participants who were skiing for the first time.
